CLAY WIMER: HEAD BJJ INSTRUCTOR

Professor Clay Wimer, Alaskan born Black Belt under Professor Vellore Caballero, has an extreme focus on fundamentals and defensively responsible positioning. He has a background in MMA, having his first sanctioned fight in 2014. Although a back injury sidelined his MMA career, he found that he could compete at the highest levels of BJJ with deliberate attention to slow and precise movement.

MJ KEENAN: VVBJJ CO-FOUNDER

MJ Keenan is a brown belt under Professor Luis Heredia, Maui Jiu Jitsu and started practicing this martial art in 1996 at Rickson Gracie’s Pico Academy Location in Los Angeles. MJ is member of the JJGF, and the Co-Founder of Verde Valley BJJ. World Class Multi Tasker, Merchant of Emotion, Winemaker, Curmudgeon, Armed Snowflake.

JEFFREY 'Cole' VASQUEZ: KIDS & TEENS FUNDAMENTALS

Cole has been a Jerome resident for 10 years and a VVBJJ student for 4. He has Trained under Stefan Dahlstet, Chris Burns, & Nick Tsai.

JAMES SHARKEY – : MUAY THAI & KICK BOXING.

Jimmy, South Dakota born, is a blue belt under Amal Easton BJJ with an MMA background. He has over 8 years of experience competing in Boxing, Muay Thai, and No-Gi tournaments.

TY GAY: GUEST INSTRUCTOR

Professor Ty is the owner and lead instructor of Redline Jiu-Jitsu Academy, OK. He is the 13th American Gracie Black Belt under Rener & Ryron Gracie. With over 20 years of experience in Martial Arts, Ty believes in helping others reach their full potential. He and his partner Tara will be working closely with the VVBJJ team of instructors to build out our Gracie Jiu-Jitsu curriculum for students of all ages

About Our Classes:

Muay Thai is often referred to as the science of 8 limbs. This class we will be learning how to utilize your punches, kicks, knees, elbows and the clinch. We will be working on both techniques and conditioning to develop your skills and your physical fitness. All are welcome to this class including the beginner and the more advanced. Comfortable clothing like a t-shirt and exercise shorts are encouraged for this class. Muay Thai is a great way to stay in shape and learn great techniques that are seen in promotions like the UFC, One Championship and K-1 Kickboxing.

Kickboxing is a stand-up combat sports based on kicking and punching, historically developed from different striking martial arts. Kickboxing is practiced for self-defence, general fitness, or as a contact sport. In this class we will practice techniques with kicking and punching. The class also utilizes different conditioning exercises as well. This class is great for both physical and mental fitness.
